Here's what I started with, I bought this at a craft show a few years ago. While I loved the star holder I'm not so fond of the colors and pip berries anymore. I'm trying to lighten up my look a little bit.
Before
I simply removed the pip berry garland and candle. Then I added the burlap ribbon, love this stuff! I simply took the flameless candle from another room. You can learn more about them here.
After
Whatcha think?

Awesome redo!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined in on the party today! I love this redo. So simple but with a great impact!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice. Sometimes simple is better.
ReplyDeleteHi Carey...love the change, and $0, can't beat that!

LOVE IT! Sometimes, simplicity is the way to go...wait, I think most times simplicity works...love your ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Carey,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great change...now you get to see all of the holder.
I just noticed the photos of your children and fur babies on the side bar. your daughters expression and your doggys expression look similar...like your dog is copying her look...JUST TOO CUTE!!!!
And oh how they have grown...beautiful children.

Hi Carey, so glad you stopped by, the only thing I can say is just follow what you love! I honestly got up one morning and looked around and thought " I don't like this style anymore, it's just not me now." My advice is to go to the cottage blogs and just look around some and see what you love, then go for it. Somethings that you already have can be painted and still used, their are some styles of cottage I'm not drawn too and some I just drool over. Take your time and just see what you love, I started in July 2010 and I'm still not done:)

I think it looks much better. Much lighter. I agree.
